Manchester NH Travel Guide

Manchester is the largest city of the state of New Hampshire, a busy urban centre in the quiet of New England, which offers visitors exposure to the state's history, arts scene, and business sector.

While not a hugely popular tourist destination, those passing through the city will surely appreciate what it has to offer. Presenting visitors many landmarks to explore, Manchester is a great space for lovers of the arts. The historic Palace Theatre, the Currier Museum of Art, the New Hampshire Institute of Art, and the Franco-American Center are just some of very many cultural offerrings worth exploring. There are also several art galleries and museums such as the Millyard Museum which tracks the history of Manchester back in time 11,000 years.

For those interested in shopping, a stroll around downtown Manchester will be rewarding. The three main retail areas are downtown Manchester, South Willow Street, and Second Street on the West Side of the city. For something a little different, visitors can head to the nearby town of Merrimack and visit the Anheuser-Busch Brewery. Here visitors can taste seasonal beers and check out the famous Budweiser Clydesdale horses.

Formerly a textile mill town, Manchester has reinvented itself over the last few decades and is now a city considered to be a space of thriving entrepreneurship, education, and hospitality.
