I Love Cancun

I’ve always viewed Cancun as a number one favourite destination for young party goers on their summer breaks. Well, when I researched it and saw the many luxurious hotels on offer I was pleasantly surprised and knew it had to be the next stop on my list.

I was only there a month ago and decided to experience my first all-inclusive holiday – it was absolutely magical and it completely exceeded my expectations! We stayed at Hacienda Tres Ríos, an amazing all inclusive resort about 45 minutes from Cancun (I was still a bit worried about being too close to the party goers so decided this was a nice distance away). We spent the first few days enjoying what the hotel had to offer. We went on guided nature and kayak tours that the hotel organised and everything was stress free as we didn’t have to venture far to meet guides etc. The resort backed onto a forest and we spent quite a lot of time relaxing by the pool or in the spa, even to walk around the resort was a treat as every point had a magnificent view and everything you could have asked for was readily available.

We decided to venture further afield after a few days and took a boat trip to Cozumel for the day. We knew it was known for its diving and we thought we needed to be a little more adventurous rather than just hanging around the spa nearly all day everyday. I had only been diving once before on the Gold Coast in Australia and I was a bit apprehensive about diving here, but I decided to give it a go and it was a hundred times better than I had imagined it to be. Afterwards we enjoyed cocktails on the boat with some other hotel guests which were such good company. Our diving instructor had us keeping calm and in stitches laughing sharing his tales from working in Cancun.

On one of our last nights we visited The Beach House restaurant at ME Cancun and I can honestly say it was one of the best restaurants I have ever visited. The food was amazing, the hospitality 100% and the atmosphere was perfect! We drank margaritas all evening and tested many dishes on the menu - I even got to meet the chef as I praised him so much whilst speaking with our waiter Bobby.

Planning our last day was difficult, there was still so much we wanted to do but one of the friends we met on the boat had suggested we try swimming with dolphins. I have to confess that I was a terrified at the thought of it, I’m not one for big animals in a close vicinity, but we ended up having our best day there and I can’t wait to show all my friends the pictures – they won’t believe it!

The time for us to leave was getting closer, like all holidays they have to come to an end. On our last day, even though I was leaving this dream resort, I was very happy I was departing with an extraordinary tan! I will most definitely be returning to Cancun in the future – one of the best holidays I’ve had!
